Amy Smart, an American actress and former model. She was born and raised in California USA she started her modeling profession in Italy. In 1996 she made her first appearance as an actress in the TV film Her Costly Affair. It was a long road for her to star in Starship Troopers in a smaller part. At first, it was hard for Amy switching from modeling to acting. The reason is that most models don't have the ability to act. And they are usually assigned small and insignificant parts. Yet, somehow Amy did not give up and transitioned to larger roles, beginning with the TV series The 70s and the film Varsity Blues. In the course of a couple of years Amy stepped into bigger roles. She starred in the romance film Just Friends alongside Ryan Reynolds. It was a huge commercial success, and Amy had finally found the fame she had been trying for for more than 10 years. She continued with major films such as the Crank series opposite Jason Statham and the series Shameless where she played a well loved recurring character.
